Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is a violation of the human rights of girls and women. It reflects inequality between males and females and constitutes and an extreme form of discrimination against women and girls.
African ChangeMakers Women Network is opposed to all forms of FGM and uses its platforms to educate women and girls, and men and boys on the need to eradicate the practice. This year, we aim to expose the lies behind the beliefs that support the practice, the enormous dangers to the physical, mental and physiological health of women and girls, and the urgent need to shun, reject and lend their voices in their communities in saying “NO” to FGM.
